Intimate Weddings, Elopements, and Micro Weddings
A cozy gathering of about 25 loved ones at Butler Fountain in City Park.
This wedding took place on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in February on the steps of the Butler Fountain. The landscaping around the fountain was recently refreshed with pink flowers that a group of bees were enjoying. The bride wore a beautiful wedding gown that fit the location perfectly, and the groom and his best man both wore custom blue suits. Their ceremony was short, roughly 15 minutes, but filled with the sweetest, happiest tears. After saying, I Do, the couple joined their families for congratulations, hugs, and more tears. We followed that with a few, ever important group family photos before taking the newly-weds for a quick walk around the park for couple portraits. The golden hour light in City Park never disappoints, and using vintage lenses, the sunlight pours in, creating beautiful, timeless portraits.
What's a small wedding called in New Orleans? Well, you might hear it referred to as an elopement, an intimate wedding, or a micro wedding.
During our first call, I asked Allison and Brennan, “When your great-grandchildren look at your wedding photos, what do you want them to feel about you as a couple?” Their response was, “We would want our great-grandchildren to feel like we really loved each other, and we’re very happy in the moment.”
Well, based on the photos above and below, their love for each other is clear.
New Orleans City Park provided the perfect backdrop for Allison and Brennan’s wedding. Some of the oldest oak trees in the park are over 800 years old!
Thanks so much for viewing! This couple booked me for 2 hours for their intimate wedding in City Park. For most elopements, micro-weddings, and intimate weddings, I recommend anywhere from 2 hours to 6 hours of photo coverage.
